There is a genre of internet content that works like this: a man with a camera and very few followers goes somewhere he is not wanted, does something he knows is offensive, and waits for a reaction he can clip.
The business model depends on the reaction being verbal.
A Kick streamer going by Onyxdenji walked into a Black neighborhood this week carrying fried chicken, which he began offering to residents, on camera, as a bit. The joke, such as it was, is older than the streamer. It’s older than Kick. It’s older than most of the people he handed it to. The point was never the chicken. The point was to film Black people reacting to a white man handing them a stereotype and see if any of it was monetizable.
It was not.
According to the clip that went around, which Daily Loud and half the internet reposted, the stunt ended with the streamer jumped, beaten up, and relieved of his phone. The stream, presumably, ended there too, on account of the phone.
Replies placed the incident in Massachusetts, and noted that he’d done this for an audience of roughly 348 followers, which means he risked his face and his hardware for fewer people than attend a mid-sized church service.
SAW does not endorse violence. SAW does, however, keep records, and the record here is clear: a man did a racist bit in a place where racist bits have consequences, and the consequences arrived on schedule. The great philosopher Matt Barnes once said, “Violence is never the answer, but sometimes it is.”
Nobody has been identified. No police report has surfaced. The chicken’s whereabouts are unknown.
He will probably stream again. He will probably do it somewhere else. We’d suggest a neighborhood where the residents are less familiar with the joke, but we’re told those don’t exist.
